  • Direct Link: Visit https://login.quickbase.com/db/main?a=SignIn in your browser. (Don't forget to add a bookmark)
  • Quickbase Website: If you're on Quickbase's website, look for the 'Login' button at the top right corner of the page. Clicking on it will redirect you to the login page.

Entering your Credentials

  • Email address or username: In the first field, enter the email address associated with your Quickbase account. Double check that you're using the correct email, especially if you have multiple.
  • Password: In the second field, type in your password. Passwords are case-sensitive, so make sure your Caps Lock is off.
  • Click the 'Login' or 'Sign In' button when done.

Using Two-Factor

  • If your company has two-factor (2FA) enabled, you'll need to enter a code after logging in.

  • Avoid reusing the same password. Try to use a new password every time you change it.

Using Strong and Unique Passwords

  • Your password should be a mix of uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters. The more complex, the harder it is to crack.
  • Aim for a password that's at least 12 characters long.
  • Try not to use easily guessable words, like "password" "admin" or "Quickbase". Consider using a passphrase or a combination of words.

Shared Logins and Why They're Risky

  • Audit Trails: When multiple users share the same login, it can be hard to track who made changes to a record.
  • Revocation: When an user no longer needs access, revoking shared login credentials can be a problem. You have to change the password for everyone, which interrupts work.

Tips

The purpose of this guide is to cover some frequently asked questions about how to use Quickbase.

How to change role of a person in Quickbase

Changing the role of a person in Quickbase is very fast and simple and one of the most frequent changes to a Quickbase app.
  1. Click the Users button on the table bar
    Changing a user's role in quickbase apps. Click the Users button.
  2. Type the name of the user whose role you would like to change in the "Search Users" box
    Changing a user's role in quickbase apps. Search for the user.
  3. Click on the drop down in the "Role" column
  4. Select the role you would like the user to have in the drop down. Changing a user's role in quickbase apps. Select the new role from the drop down.

How to change the role of a quickbase user who is in a group

You cannot change the role for a user in quickbase when he/she is in membership group directly. You can only add additional roles, remove the group from the app, or change the user's group membership. To change a user's group you must have access to create applications. Once you have this access:

  1. Click on My Apps
  2. Click on Manage my Account
  3. Click Groups
  4. Click on the Group Name of the group you'd like to remove the user from.
  5. Check the "remove' checkbox for the user who you'd like to remove from the group.
  6. Click Save

What is the Cost of Quickbase?

As of 2022, Quickbase pricing falls into 3 different categories. Their plans are called Team, Business, and Enterprise. Depending on your needs, Quickbase offers per user as well as a usage based licensing. Respectively the plans start at $600, $2000, and custom, price per month.

Usage or User based Licensing?

Whether you pick usage based or user based pricing will depend on how you use your Quickbase realm. If you have a large volume of users that use your Quickbase apps very sparingly, you may want to choose usage based pricing. Alternatively, if you have a small number of users who use Quickbase extensively in all of their business processes, user pricing may be better for you.

Team

The Team plan starting at $600/mo is the entry point for the Quickbase Platform. This plan will give you access to 50 production customizable business apps. You get access to 3 channels in Pipelines, Webhooks, and the all new REST API. You also get base level governance features, platform support, and free access to Quickbase University.

Business

The Business plan starts at $2000/mo and is a significant step up in terms of features and functionality. This plan will be a great entry for organizations who have many Quickbase Builders working on business critical applications. In addition to the increased entitlements for number of production applications and Pipeline channels you get:
  • Sandbox Environments that make it easier to manage the software development lifecycle
  • The ability to operate Quickbase apps online on Mobile devices
  • Custom branding in your applications
  • A wide array of governance tools, including HIPAA Compliance, SSO, and Data Classification

Enterprise

Enterprise licensing is for the largest consumers of Quickbase. There isn’t any published data about the cost of Quickbase at this level as each plan will be customized according to the organization’s needs. Some of the key components that are available to Quickbase customers in the Enterprise plan are:

Quick and simple tips for every Quickbase application

Quickbase can really change the game for your business by democratizing software development and putting the power of tool creation in the hands of the business teams that need them the most. It's also very versatile, so you can use it for anything from a fully loaded CRM to a dead-simple To Do List app. Here are some of our favorite tricks that we use in just about every application.

Document your app with field comments

Over the lifetime of an application it is very easy to forget what the reason for a field is used, especially if it doesn't have any tool tips or is only used a portion of the time. To compensate for this, just use the Comments section of the field settings every time you create a new field. Something I like to record in the comment section of every new field is the Date Created, Created By, and Details. Details stores the broader context of the field and how it is intended to be used.

Log your edits to text fields

Did you know that you can store a running history of every change made to a text field? By checking the Log the edits to this field checkbox in the field settings of any text field, each record will record the changes made to a text field over time, as well as the user's name and date that it was changed.

Here are my personal favorite logging settings:

  • Show the name and date on their own line
  • Show new entries at the bottom of the field
  • Show full names instead of user names
  • Show the time addition to the date

Group your reports into similar categories

Tired of looking at an unorganized mess of common reports? Grouping your reports according to role or use-case can be immensely powerful, especially for tables with many different reports.

To organize your reports into existing groups or create new ones, just click the Organize button in the Reports & Charts section of your table view, then click Done Organizing.

Use Radio Buttons instead of Drop Downs

Drop Down select fields have many uses and are great most of the time, but sometimes you need a different way to show users what options they have on the form. This is where radio buttons come in. A radio button on the form is just a multiple choice field with some form options changed. To change your drop down field on the form to a radio button, highlight the form element and check the Display choices as radio buttons check on the right hand side of the Form Builder.

Don't get stuck on problems that don't matter

Always remember that perfect is the enemy of great. Sometimes you won't be able to solve a problem exactly the way you want to on your first go. Publish something that will work for 80% of your users and come back to it later with a fresh set of eyes. Or better yet, reach out for help.
